May 2013 Former BSCC president Derek Howlett featured on an episode of the Channel 4 TV series Random Acts (Episode no. 311) on Friday, 24 May. The Radio Times gave the theme of the 5-minute programme as "a heartwarming tale about a man's life-long love of shells". The episode is now available online here.
