The 2022 BSCC Convention

It was great to see friends old and new at this year's Convention, held on 30 April 2022 at Theydon Bois Village Hall in beautiful spring weather. Peter Dance and Simon Aiken were present to sign copies of their new edition of the DK Handbook of Shells; and children from local schools came to try out the new Family Area with colouring, displays and a very popular Lucky Dip. The Annual General Meeting in the afternoon saw the attendees thank Daphne Howlett and John Batt for their many years of service to the Club, and Daphne's election as its new President. John now leaves the Committee, while Brian Hammond has been welcomed on to it. It was a very enjoyable start to the Club's 50th anniversary year. The Chatsworth Show and informal get-togethers for Club members resume this summer and we look forward to seeing you at one (or all) of them: for details, see the Events calendar.
