BSCC president Derek Howlett is to feature on an episode of the Channel 4 TV series "Random Acts" at 12:05 am on Friday, 24th May. The Radio Times gives the theme of the 5 minute programme as "a heartwarming tale about a man's life-long love of shells".
The 2013 BSCC Convention was held at: Theydon Bois Village Hall, Coppice Row, (the B172), Theydon Bois, CM16 7ER, on Saturday, 27 April 2013, from 9.00am to 4:30pm.

Club member Colin Goss has taken a large number of photographs of living British molluscs. A selection of them can be seen on here.
Club member and cone authority R. M. (Mike) Filmer has updated the information in his 2001 book 'A Catalogue of Nomenclature and Taxonomy in the Living Conidae 1758-1998' with illustrations of all type specimens, and made it available online on the Cone Collector web site at www.theconecollector.com/filmer/index.html. Latest update 29 November 2012. This is an important resource for anybody interested in cones.
Conidae expert Paul Kersten, with André Poremski and Club member Gavin Malcolm have created an online illustrated checlist of living Conidae, with summary descriptions of more than 2000 species, subspecies and forms. It is available on the Cone Collector web site at http://theconecollector.com/checklist/Pages/. This is another very valuable resource for anybody interested in cones.
