Access by car
Theydon Bois is on the edge of Epping Forest between Loughton and Epping in Essex. It is close to the M25 Junction 26 (Waltham Abbey), and Junctions 5 (Loughton, northbound exit only) and 7 (Harlow/Epping) of the M11. The village Hall is opposite the Village Green.

Whichever direction you are approaching from, unless you are driving out of central London the best starting point to drive to the Hall is Junction 26 of the M25.

From there take the A121 signposted to Epping and Loughton.

After around 2 miles you reach a roundabout. Take the 2nd exit sign posted B172 Theydon Bois.

After another 2 miles or so you will pass the ‘Sixteen String Jack’ pub on the left (named after the highwayman Jack Rann who was hanged at the age of 24 in 1774) and enter Theydon Bois itself.

Soon the road passes through a crossroads and very soon after that the Village Hall entrance is on the left, indicated by a sign on the right side of the road.

For those with satnav, the Village Hall’s postcode is CM16 7ER.

Access by public transport
Theydon Bois tube station is on London Underground Central Line, Epping branch. Trains run every ten minutes from around 7am and the journey from Liverpool Street, for example, takes 30 minutes. Return trains into London are available into the evening. For ticket purposes, Theydon Bois is in zone 5. From the station, walk up the hill with the village green to your left. The Village Hall is approximately 5 minutes walk up the road, on the right.
